Volunteer for the SCR Neighborhood Watch

Volunteer

WE NEED YOU TO HELP MAKE YOUR COMMUNITY SAFER!

The group is a volunteer led and supported group.  Without willing individuals to help with our initiatives (including serving as block captains), we cannot accomplish our goals.  Volunteers are needed to conduct patrols, coordinate patrol coverage, assist in the coordination/creation of training sessions and meeting presentations, and other action items as determined from time to time.

We need block captains for nearly every section in our community.  A block captain’s responsibilities are to:

  • Act as liaison between block residents and the watch group officers.
  • Establish a “contact chain” by compiling and distributing a current list of names, addresses, emails, and telephone numbers of block participants.
  • Visit and invite new residents to join; notify them of meetings and training sessions.
  • Establish an “Operation Identification” program.
  • Contact each neighbor as often as possible to discuss possible crime problems, needs for assistance, and suggestions for program improvement.
